Besides worldwide airport information, this map shows up-to-date flight data of mostly more than 5,000 aircraft.
The OpenSky Network is a non-profit organisation. It provides actual flight data and makes it possible to always have up-to-date data by evaluating a wide range of sensors. Airportmap uses a public API to retrieve such data at 15-minute intervals and display it on this map. The most important technologies are Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) and Mode S. They provide detailed aircraft information via public 1090 MHz radio channel.
